Hand Applique Basics

One-on-One Personal Instruction By Appointment Only Skill Level: Beginner or Experienced (Refresher Course) Applique Basics introduce the student to the fine art of hand sewing and hand applique! Based on Mimi Dietrich’s book Baltimore Basics – Album Quilts from Start to Finish. The student will practice needle-turn applique along with many other hand applique techniques. Completion of a Baltimore Album Sample Book (see shop display) or small wall hanging is possible as a keepsake of all the sewing techniques. Join me in personal one-on-one instruction to enhance your hand applique skills!

New York Beauty

This project will be making the raised points and wedges using the templates in the back of book. A mixture of batik fabrics works great for this project. Rotating mat works great but not necessary for the template cutting. Try to have your fabric already picked out because the class will take full time slot to make just a few squares. I'll also have a sample of mixing the beauty with drunkards path which uses the same cut-a- round tool. It’s always nice to know there is more than one use for the rulers and tools. The new One Block Wonder Encore book shows how to make the cubes you have seen in previous issues. This class will only deal with the cubes. They are amazing to make and how great they look tucked away in your one block wonder quilts. 60 degree triangle with 1/2 and 1/4 marks is a must

Basic Redwork Embroidery Club

If you have a love of redwork hand embroidery and would like to spend some time on a monthly basis with ladies of a similar mindset, won't you consider joining us on the 2nd Wednesday afternoon of each month? Delectable Mountains

After traveling through many hardships, John Bunyan's pilgrims came at last to the Delectable Mountains, the namesake for this traditional quilt pattern. Eleanor Burns has made a quilt to evoke the peaceful rest of those literary mountains. Eleanor has made this pattern easy to make. It has no "Y" seams and with the template that is included has made this quilt easy to make.

English Paper Piecing Club

International Mystery Quilt

Fun, fun, fun as we discover the pattern and solve the mystery of each quilt. You will learn multiple ways to use your blocks, as well as a bit of history about other countries. You will want to make more than one. Two color choices will be available for each quilt. See you in class.

Judy Niemeyer Club

This club is designed for people who have started judy Niemeyer's patterns and need additional help, if you are currently in a class and need more assistance. Jennifer has done many Judy patterns and has found an instant love for the technique. She can show you all the tips and techniques she has learned to make your project successful. For people who have never done a Judy Niemeyer project before, we recommend you take one of our beginner classes to get started prior to attending this club. due to contractual issues, to work on a pattern that is currently being offered as a class, students must be enrolled in both classes. We are not able to help students work "ahead of the class. All other Judy Niemeyer patterns are welcome.

Monthly Stash Buster Strip Quilt

Do you ever wonder what on earth youre going to do with all your stash? This is the class for you. Join us once a month for seven months while we complete two bloks a month using fabric you already have. Our first meeting will focus on color and composition. You will have a beautiful quilt completed in a short time and the pattern is one you will use again and again. Take this opportunity to use all your creative skills in color, design and finishing. Join us for a fun, no stress weekend sewing and hanging out with friends making quilts and things for our "Quiltz of Love" program. Our shelves are empty and need to be restocked so we can once again give warmth and hope to others. We will have patterns and most of the fabric needed to make fun and easy projects. Basic Beginning Paper Piecing

Paper piecing is a technique that insures perfect blocks every time, no matter how large or small your finished block is; it will become a valuable addition to your skills toolbox. THIS CLASS EMPHASIZES THE ORIGINAL BASIC PAPER=-PIECING METHOD. A fun way to learn paper piecing is to make a small sampler quilt....which is exactly what we plan to do with this basic class. You will become Hooked on the technique and eager to see how each unique, individual block turns out. I also plan to show you my foolproof method of joining the block segments together I have been paper piecing for years and just love this technique!

Beads of Courage Bags

Have you thought you would like to find a way to help others? Well this is a fun, easy and very satisfying class to fulfill that need. We make the bags used in the Beads of Courage program at Phoenix Children's Hospital for seriously ill children. To find out more about this great program please go to www.beadsofcourage.org. All you need to bring is a sewing machine and a desire to make a child's hospital experience just a bit more bearable.

Beginner Crochet

In the first session we will learn basic crochet stitches and how to read crochet patterns. In the second we will work through completing a baby dishcloth pattern that will use the stitches you've learned.

This charming quilt used different configurations of Tri-Square patch. the patch has three triangles, two are one-fourth the finished size of the Square patch and one is one half the size of the finished patch. the patches are made four at a time. this quilt is fun to make for beginning to advanced quilters

This cute tote opens up to become your personal ironing pad. It transforms into a tote by simply folding on strateically placed lines of stitching and button closure. This is a quick project for the person with basic sewing skills. It's sure to become a must have for you and would make a great gift for your sewing friends.

Double Four-Patch

This colorful four-patch planted in straight rows zigzag around a triangle path! This is a great way to use some of those scraps you have left over from other quilts. Scraps makes this quilt more fun to make. Whether you are a seasoned quilter or just started quilting, this quilt is fun to make.

Kite / Spider Web

Make the Kite/Spider Web quilt using 5" squares and 2 1/2 strips. This quilt utilizes and tumbling kite ruler and the 90-45 degree triangle drafted by Quiltz. The triangle serves as the pattern; no paper piecing involved. Join me in class to learn how to put this quilt together.
