This project will be making the raised points and
wedges using the templates in the back of book. A
mixture of batik fabrics works great for this project.
Rotating mat works great but not necessary for the
template cutting. Try to have your fabric already
picked out because the class will take full time slot to
make just a few squares. I'll also have a sample of
mixing the beauty with drunkards path which uses
the same cut-a- round tool. It’s always nice to know
there is more than one use for the rulers and tools.

In this class we will learn how to create ‘invisible’ binding – meaning you cannot tell where it began or ended. We will also learn how to do perfectly mitered binding corners. Applique Basics introduce the student to the fine art of hand sewing and hand applique! Based on Mimi Dietrich’s book Baltimore Basics – Album Quilts from Start to Finish. The student will practice needle-turn applique along with many other hand applique techniques. Completion of a Baltimore Album Sample Book (see shop display) or small wall hanging is possible as a keepsake of all the sewing techniques. Carol will guide you step-by-step into the ABSOLUTE
freedom of free–motion quilting; meandering, echo, stippling
and creating your own overall designs. She will also be
covering the importance of thread, batting, proper basting
and how to get that huge quilt under your machine! Her

stitches; she promises you will have FUN along the way.

 | Quilting for the Clueless - A Beginner Quilting Class
If you have wanted to try quilting but didn’t know where to start or worse, you have felt a bit intimidated by the idea, this is the class for you. During these four sessions you will learn the basics while completing your first quilt. Multiple topics will be covered including fabric selection, rotary cutting, piecing, basting, basic quilting and finishing your quilt.
Classes are spaced about two weeks apart to give participants adequate time to finish a quilt as well as explore additional ‘next step’ techniques. Join this step by step class in an atmosphere designed to be relaxed and fun!

Tea Party is a fun, quick and beginner-friendly quilt. This quilt uses a jelly roll (or 2 ½” strips that you cut) with a background fabric to create a truly quick and beautiful quilt. There are almost no matching seams so quilters can relax and just enjoy the time spent making this quilt.
During the two sessions, you will get special cutting instructions, work with the sewing technique used for creating the blocks, and get lots of time to sew with friends. We will cover the setting method the pattern uses for the blocks and also cover an easy binding method.

 | Monthly Stash Sampler Quilt
Join us once a month while we create this beautiful sampler quilt. You will receive patterns for two blocks each month to be completed using fabric from your beloved stash. You will bring your two completed blocks in the following month in order to receive the next two patterns. At the first meeting we will focus on the colors and composition of the quilt. Count on having your quilt completed by year-end. This class offers you an opportunity to use all your creative skills in color, design and quilt completion. You will also have a pattern you will want to use again and again. We are scheduling this class on the same day as “Ask Sue” so you will be able to finish your blocks the same day, as well as enjoy a day of quilting and sharing with friends.

 | Arizona Cactus - Certified Instructor
The Arizona Cactus Pattern is a redrafted version of Judy’s Tropical Sundance Block. The layout has been redesigned to accomodate a table top or coffee table and fabrics that compliment various seasons of the year have been used to make our samples. An excellent project for someone new to paper piecing, it includes enough papers to make two table toppers and also covers many of Judy’s basic paper piecing techniques without involving a signficant number of blocks. If you are looking for a project you can pull together in the weekend and have a great time choosing colors, this is an excellent option for you!
