One-on-One Personal Instruction By Appointment Only Skill Level: Beginner or Experienced (Refresher Course) Applique Basics introduce the student to the fine art of hand sewing and hand applique! Based on Mimi Dietrich’s book Baltimore Basics – Album Quilts from Start to Finish. The student will practice needle-turn applique along with many other hand applique techniques. Completion of a Baltimore Album Sample Book (see shop display) or small wall hanging is possible as a keepsake of all the sewing techniques. This club is designed for people who have started judy Niemeyer's patterns and need additional help, if you are currently in a class and need more assistance. Jennifer has done many Judy patterns and has found an instant love for the technique. She can show you all the tips and techniques she has learned to make your project successful. For people who have never done a Judy Niemeyer project before, we recommend you take one of our beginner classes to get started prior to attending this club. due to contractual issues, to work on a pattern that is currently being offered as a class, students must be enrolled in both classes. We are not able to help students work "ahead of the class. All other Judy Niemeyer patterns are welcome.

Join us each month to create "A year in the life of Sunbonnet Sue" quilt or even mini quilts. Each block approximately 22' by 26" and depicts Sunbonnet Sun in a activity appropriate to that month. You can create a complete quilt or 12 mini quilts. Also a half size copy of the pattern will be available if you don't want to work that big. The technique used is applique. You can do it either with blanket stitch, satin stitch or raw edge. I will teach you all three techniques and you can choose what you would like to use. If you have never quilted I will also teach you quilting techniques. You will find that Applique is a fun technique to learn and use.

The goal of the technique of the month (TOM) program is to design quilts that incorporate a wide range of Judy’s techniques to familiarize quilters in a manner that will allow them to pick up any of her patterns and successfully complete them after they have completed one of our TOM patterns.

You will bring lots of color to your holiday table with this merry and bright table runner. Mix and match fabrics for a lively runner or use solid background colors and elegant fabrics for the ornaments for a sophisticated look. We will be using fusible applique technique, very easy, and you will want to do more of it once you master the basics in this class.

Miss Muffet is not sitting on my tuffet. This is not your standard Miss Muffet's Tuffet because this is a sturdy piece of furniture that will enhance your living room. It features a wooden base and feet that makes it a substantial foot stool. We will focus on making the cover in the first class and then assemble in the second day so that you will go home with a finished piece of furniture. You can find tuffets for sale from $400-$700 dollars but you can make your own for a fraction of the price. For those that want to order the wood base and feet from Smith's woodworking we will be taking orders the first class at a special price.
